1981 Hornby Flying Scotsman
Overall, the Flying Scotsman has been a very reliable train. Although it has had many problems, I have been able to fix all of them with a bit of fiddling inside it. It is very powerful, as it will pull 20 wagons and 4 coaches almost effortlessly. The worst problem that I have had with it so far is that all of the metal rods connecting the wheels and pistons got tangled up somehow, so I had to remove them completely. So although it looks very worn, it is very reliable. The detailing is (was) ok by my standards, as it has good handrails and paintwork, but not a detailed cab. Saying that though, it did come with a driver. That is about all I have to say about my trustworthy Flying Scotsman.
Bachmann Class 66 EWS
I got my Class 66 as a birthday present from my parents, and I haven't had a chance to run it in properly yet, as my track is nearly wrecked. I have used it briefly and found that it could pull a huge load, had great slow speed control, and the lights are amazing. It is also extremely well detailed and weighty. I will update the review when I have run it in.
